New Sound Academy_Blue Orange - Nuova Civiltà Records
Hypnagogia, the mesmerizing new EP by Sunken Kaleidoscope released via Nuova Civiltà Records through the New Sound Academy sub-label under the Blue Orange subdivision, stands as a stunning testament to the ethereal power of modern alternative music. Featuring four special versions of the title track, the release crafts an immersive sonic journey that bridges the kaleidoscopic experimentation of the 1960s with the shimmering, floating textures of 1990s dream-pop.
The soundscape unfolds through a masterclass in atmosphere and production, where jangle and fuzz guitars melt seamlessly into cascading waves of reverb and delay. Each version reinterprets the core hypnotic motif from a fresh perspective, weaving a tapestry of hazy melodies, liquid basslines, and otherworldly vocal harmonies. It is a brilliant, timeless bridge between eras-capturing both the organic warmth of vintage psychedelic exploration and the melancholic, celestial grace of late-twentieth-century dreamscapes.
